Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have your own Controls or can you adopt ours?
Every company is different and controls need to be built uniquely. That being said, we have and can operate under our own SOPs that have been created from best practices our team has experienced, or we can adopt the SOPs that make you and your board of directors comfortable.
As a part of the needs analysis and onboarding process, our team will establish exactly how you want to have your finance department operate. We will make recommendations and ensure that you have the best controls that will be perform well, even in a PCAOB style audit.
HOW DO I CONNECT WITH SOMEONE AT ORTHOBOOKS TO DETERMINE IF THERE IS A FIT?
All you need to do is send us an email to [email protected] and one of our company leaders will get back to you the same day. Our process is to have an initial discussion to identify what your specific needs are and to determine what package is the best fit for your organization. After that discussion, our team will prepare a unique statement or work and proposal for you to review. If that all looks good, we can get started immediately.
WHAT LENGTH OF CONTRACT DO WE NEED TO SIGN IN A TYPICAL ENGAGEMENT?
We don’t believe in holding customers hostage. Our agreements limit legalese and carry only a 60 day notice period to ensure proper handoff of all tasks, accounts and control documents.
CAN YOU HELP WITH VALUATIONS?
Our immediate team can help with forecasts and the underlying documents that are needed for a valuation. We also work with a close group of really talented auditors and valuation experts to help guide you on your path to determining what valuation you should expect in fund raising and M&A.
What types of companies do you typically work with?
Although financial principles are consistent regardless of industry, properly constructing your books and controls require the knowledge of how nuanced the medical device industry can be. Our clients are all focused on delivering some form of product or service to the medical device industry with special focus areas within the orthopedics, spine and osteobiologics specialties.
